What Are The Dimensions of a Full Size Double Bed Frame?

Full size double beds measure approximately 54’’ x 75’’ (4’6’’ x 6’3’’). This size provides plenty of room for both tall people and couples. It’s also perfect for saving space, as these beds won’t take up a huge amount once in your room. 

If you’re looking for something slightly larger a full XL bed frame is the next size up, measuring 54’’ x 80’’ for some extra length.

Will a Full Size Bed Fit a Queen Mattress?

A queen size mattress is around 60’’ x 80’’ so is a lot bigger than a full bed. Putting a full size mattress on a queen size bed frame will have no issues, however some of the bed frame might be exposed. However, a queen size mattress won’t fit on a full bed because the frame won’t be big enough. 

We recommend that you always buy a mattress that matches the dimensions of your bed to reduce wear and tear and get a more comfortable night's sleep. 

Full Size Beds vs Double Beds

The difference between a full size bed and a double bed can confuse some people. However, these terms describe the same size bed, which measures 54” x 75” (4’6” x 6’3”). The phrase ‘full size bed frame’ is more widely used in North America, whereas people from the United Kingdom and some other countries will say ‘double bed frame’.
